It all started as a hobby. The family enjoyed brewing beer together, and their first brew was on Mother’s Day. They continued to brew on a consistent basis, always enjoying dinner and taste testing their creations. Over time, their brew equipment grew, and they converted their basement into a mini bar and fermenting room.
One day, the family started joking about opening their own brewery. They jotted down some notes, thinking it was just for fun. But when they found a building and location that matched their description, the joke was over. They spent the next three years remodeling the outside and inside of the taproom and brewhouse.
Starr Craft Brewery opened its doors in July of 2019. Since then, they have expanded their taplist to include ciders, wine, and mead. And the family has big plans for the future, including adding a kitchen, comedy club, and beer garden.
One of the biggest events at Starr Craft Brewery is their anniversary party in July. It’s a great time to come out and celebrate with the family and enjoy some delicious drinks. And the best part? Starr Craft Brewery is a family-friendly spot, so everyone can join in on the fun.

Before getting into the beer industry, Darrell’s career was in construction, owning Southern Starr Carpentry and working in both Florida and Michigan.
Darrell is married to his wife, Stacey Starr, and together they have three sons who are all involved in the brewery. When he’s not busy brewing, Darrell enjoys hockey, hunting, golfing, and of course, drinking beer.
With his passion for beer and years of experience in construction, Darrell has been able to create a unique and welcoming environment at Starr Craft Brewery. Visitors can enjoy a variety of hand-crafted beers, as well as other drinks such as ciders, wine, and mead. And with plans for future expansion, the Starr family is committed to providing a fun and family-friendly spot for locals and visitors alike.

Husband to Tanya Starr and a proud father of three beautiful daughters. He worked in the technology field for many years, starting at an entry-level position and eventually climbing his way up to an executive role.
Despite his success in the corporate world, Darrell decided to take a leap of faith and leave his job to support the family business, Starr Craft Brewery. As a passionate entrepreneur, he has poured his heart and soul to help building the brewery into a beloved local spot for craft beer enthusiasts.
Darrell has a deep interest in beer, computer science and loves to learn. He spends his free time pursuing hobbies such as graphic design and programming. He also values time with his family and friends, balancing his workaholic tendencies with quality time with loved ones.
Darrell’s unwavering drive to better himself and his business has been a key factor in his success. His commitment to entrepreneurship, learning, and hard work is an inspiration to those around him.
Phillip D. Starr

Phillip D. Starr is married to Nicole Starr and they have two children, a boy and a girl. Phillip is a member of IBEW Local 58 where he works in low voltage and technology. He is known for his innovative thinking and constantly coming up with new ways to improve and grow both his personal and professional life.
At Starr Craft Brewery, Phillip specializes in wine making and is dedicated to creating unique and delicious blends. When he’s not working or making wine, Phillip enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the great outdoors through camping, hunting, and travel. With his passion for innovation and love for family and nature, Phillip brings a well-rounded perspective and creativity to the business!
